This spectacular site between San Vicente Creek and Davenport Landing on the North Coast of Santa Cruz County is protected by a public access easement. From January through April, it is an excellent location from which to watch the migration of gray whales along the California coast. Acquired by the Land Trust in 2001, the easement comprises five areas accessible from the Southern Pacific right-of-way and Highway 1 in Davenport. By holding a conservation easement, the Land Trust will ensure continued public enjoyment of these scenic bluffs and beaches. Due to the property's location next to the northern terminus of the future Santa Cruz County Rail Trail, we expect the bluffs to increase in popularity as a scenic nature viewing destination in the future.
