Once a stronghold of the Miami and Shawnee people, settlers moved into the area following the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794. Named for the area’s first surveyor, the lake was constructed in 1950 and became a state park in 1968. Experience the tranquility of the lake, adorned with scenic inlets and wooded shores. Enjoy popular activities like swimming, fishing, sailing, and kayaking. Explore trails through mature woodlands, and for an overnight stay, choose between deluxe cabins or the family campground—all just a short walk from the beach and commissary.
