The unique shops that line downtown Cold Lake's main street entice even the most discerning shopper. But don't forget to explore one block north, or you may miss out on the experience of tasting the amazing beef jerky taken into space by our Canadian astronauts. On your short walk you'll find stylish clothes, tons of shoes, trendy children's attire, and the best lingerie boutique in Alberta. When you're done shopping, grab lunch or supper at one of the restaurants scattered throughout the downtown core.
No matter where you're perched on the shore, it is just a wide expanse of blue when you look north on Cold Lake. From the sands of Kinosoo Beach you can swim out a fair distance before the bottom drops away. On shore, enjoy the ever expanding activities being built at Cold Lake's favourite summer gathering place. A splash park, beach volleyball courts, zip line, children's playground, concession stand and the occasional live performances help break up the long summer days. Mobile watersport rentals are also available.
The Marina provides the largest boat launch on the lake, as well as fuel, a pump out system, sailboat lifting mast and a fish cleaning station. Call 780-639-3316 for service. There are lots of restaurants along the lakeshore, or one block back. Some with patios offering an unparalleled view of the water. If you're just looking for a snack, ice cream cones can be acquired at a few locations.
