Established in 1961, Caldwell Park is named after Claude Caldwell, the first chairperson of Redding's Parks and Recreation Commission and early park advocate. At nearly 53 acres, this treasured and popular riverfront park is one of Redding's premier community parks. Here, recreational opportunities span from soccer, trails, softball fields, the Redding Aquatic Center, the Redding Skate Park, the Caldwell Jr. Bike Park, the Teen Center, the Recreation center, basketball court, a motorized boat ramp, and a fish viewing facility. There is never a shortage of activities at Caldwell Park. For facility rentals, see Reddingparks.com For programming and recreational classes, see ReddingRecreation.com.
