Howe Avenue Access is located downriver from California State University, Sacramento and near Highway 50. Despite its closeness to the road, the river’s clay banks and riverside vegetation give it a wild feel.
- The water of the Howe Avenue Access looks inviting, but swimming and diving are not encouraged. Swimmers must be careful to follow water safety precautions if they choose to swim in this often-cold, fast-moving water.

- Vehicle fees increase over Summer Holiday Weekends.
