A 300-acre wildlife sanctuary connected to both Kula Forest Reserve and Kahikinui Forest Reserve. Alpine Wildlife Sanctuary is accessible by driving up Crater Road. Alpine Wildlife Sanctuary provides access to the 6.8 mile Skyline Trail that continues into Kahikinui Forest Reserve (Papa'anui Tract). As a wildlife sanctuary, this alpine region is not authorized for any hunting. Instead, the intended purpose is to protect our native species in the area.
