Welcome to Vasquez Rocks Natural Area, the ancestral Tataviam village of Mapipinga. Located in the small town of Agua Dulce, this 945-acre park features iconic geology, protected habitat for native flora and fauna, and fascinating cultural history. Visitors can explore the interpretive center, participate in educational programs, meet animal ambassadors, and enjoy picnic tables and a group campground. There is a variety of unique hiking and equestrian trails, including a 2.3 mile segment of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) that runs through the park.

Tataviam ancestors lived here for over 1,300 years, with archaeological evidence indicating human life here at least 4,500 years ago. Please remember, all features in this park are protected. Please protect the cultural record and preserved environments at this special place by not disturbing, damaging, or removing any plants, rocks, or artifacts.
